The Mirage in Las Vegas is a great place to stay if you love to chill by the pool all day, the pool area is simply gorgeous, one of the best I have ever seen anywhere I have traveled. They keep the tropical theme consistant throughout the area. There are tons of shady palm trees to lounge under and lots of shade if you get there early enough to get a chair under the trees. The hotel itself is a bit older, kind of a retro look to the rooms which is fine as you are not in them very much, but one thing that bothered me was the damage to the wallpaper in the hallway on our floor, it was there from the time we arrived until the day we left and they made no effort to fix it at all, it looked a bit shabby to me. The service was outstanding for the most part, but they did hit me with an unexpected resort fee of $20 per day, they gave me a list of what the fee was for and I was not impressed. The woman at the front desk told me all the hotels on the Strip are charging these fees now, which did not make me feel any better but just a heads up if you want to stay on the Strip in Vegas. The hotel is in a good location, we were very close to a lot of the other casinos and only had to take a taxi twice the entire time we were there. Everything was pretty much within walking distance but bring good shoes! By the way if you like a good hamburger, go to BLT Burger in the casino lobby, it was great! And the frozen rum drinks at Rhumbar were good too!
