Island Inn on Sanibel Island

We loved this place. Lots of old world charm, excellent housekeeping staff, a wonderful pool, well groomed grounds, and a very personable staff. We enjoyed our stay on Sanibel, and when we go back we will return to the Island Inn. If you are looking for the Hyatt, this place is not for you. This is a typical beach hotel in that sand and shells are everywhere, and just the right amount of wear so that you feel comfortable in the space and don't worry about messing something up. If you are looking for an upscale hotel there are many others on the island that you could pick from. This place is as comfortable as an old shoe, and you feel that instantly We were there in the off season so we cannot speak of the restaurant., but there are many on the island so that wasn't an issue for us. We thought the bed was comfortable, housekeeping helped us keep our surroundings tidy, and we wanted for nothing. Lots of parking, which was important to us as we were visiting with friends staying in another hotel and we got together for meals and beachcombing {they're hotel had very little overflow parking]. The pool was clean and beautiful, the grounds were manicured daily, an outdoor shuffleboard type court [can't remember what the game was called but it was fun], and an old world ambience on the entire property. Lots of outdoor running water [hoses and a shell cleaning station] that helped to keep things clean. We were there on a holiday weekend and no mail the day we left. The staff in the hotel very graciously offered to take my shells to the post office the day after we left. Ahh, the Icing on the cake, we WILL be back.
