This hotel made us feel we were stepping back into the 1930s. Everything about it is dated and worn-out feeling, but oddly, we felt more sympathetic than disappointed. One could easily imagine the stature the place once had, and we could picture movie stars and royalty of years gone by making a grand entrance into its lobby. The rooms and amenties were just passable, and it is under-staffed. But the staff that was there was proud and helpful. In the end our memories of the hotel are quite positive, even though it's a property badly in need of renovation.
