We were not sure what to expect when we booked our weekend at the Cheeca but were pleasantly surprised. The property is a lovely, well maintained property with an upscale beachy feel. The restaurants, beach bar, spa, gym and pools were all excellent. The only potential drawback to the Cheeca is that while it is on the beach, you really can't swim in the ocean there as the beach is minimal and somewhat muddy when you enter the water. This is very typical of the Florida Keys. We spent time by the ocean but retreated to the pool for swimming. The property has an elegant but relaxed feel. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would definitely return.
