Because we were arriving on a Saturday afternoon, we booked one night at The Orleans (then moved to another hotel on the Strip because we got a fabulous package deal for Sun-Thurs.) Check-in was quick and the personnel were very nice and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. And quiet. I don't nkow if it was because we were on a lower floor this time, but it was quieter than it usually is. No teenagers running up and down the hall. Bathroom was average size with a tub/shower combo (and little window in the shower.) Toiletries include the very basics: soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Other amenities include a tv, room safe in the bathroom, a cone-cup coffee maker, and internet connection (don't know if there is an extra charge for it, though.) Pros: -- clean, comfortable rooms. --can't beat the price for a weekend! --location is just off the strip, but soooo easy to get wherever you need to go. --food court (Subway, Sbarro, Fudruckers,...) for a quick bite. And so you don't think you're locked into fast food, there are several other on-site restaurants, too. Cons: -- If you self-park in the parking garage, you will need to schlep your luggage through the casino to get to the front desk, and another (though shorter) hike to the elevators. Long way when you have heavy bags. My advice is to valet the car, and have the bell desk handle the bags, checking in AND at check-out (it's worth a few extra dollars.) -- Can be noisy, because they host a lot of school sporting events. There are often a lot of 16-yr olds through college age who apparently haven't been taught how to act, and who aren't adequately chaperoned. -- location -- off the Strip, so could be a problem if you don't have a car. -- poker room is very smokey. We will definitely stay there again. For what we paid, it's a bargain!
