Best Place on Cozumel Without A Doubt.

y wife and I just returned from a short 5 day trip to Cozumel. We chose this hotel mainly from other reviews on this website. I have to say that overall we were pleased with our stay but, as with anything, there were some issues. First, the good. In my opinion, this resort is probably the best resort on the island. It is not all-inclusive and so can be a bit pricey if you like to drink a lot while at the beach. However, the service, grounds and the water are second to none on the island. The shore snorkeling was amazing in my opinion. In fact, the third day we were there we went to Chankanaab National Marine Park to go snorkeling in what is supposed to be one of the best places in Mexico and perhaps the Caribbean. However, the snorkeling at the hotel was easily as good, if not better, than the park and it was free! The staff at ScubaDu were very helpful and friendly. Also, the owner of ScubaDu is a great guy. My wife and I went in to purchase a mask and forgot our cash. So he just gave us the mask and told us we could pay him whenever, before we left. You do not usually find that sort of service anywhere, much less Mexico. Alfredo di Roma, the resort Italian restaurant is overrated in my opinion. It was very average and overpriced for the quality of food they present. El Caribeno Restaurant was pretty decent although overpriced since it is the main resort restaurant. I would recommend any would-be travelers at this resort to just take a taxi to the MEGA store in town across from the international cruise terminal and buy all your beer, snacks, etc there. You will literally save hundreds of dollars by not raiding the mini-bar in the room and just drinking your own beer or spirits. The hotel grounds were immaculately kept and maintained. Also, the architecture is neat and sort of has a lost Mayan temple feel while walking the hallways to the rooms. There is lush tropical flora everywhere and the hotel is built out of what looks like coral rock. There was a problem
