The Baldwin Hotel is a perfect place to stay for anyone looking to stay close to San Francisco's major sites. Located just outside the southern gates of China town, residents of the Baldwin are in walking distance of Union Square, China Town, BART, and Nob Hill. Room service is offered every day, and the maid makes an array of towel animals (she is very talented!). The rooms make good use of space, and have excellent views of the city. I really enjoyed the friendly service and was greeted each time I left and entered the hotel. Another reason the location was ideal was because I felt it was in a safer part of town than most other well-known San Francisco hotels, so I would feel comfortable bringing my family. One important thing you should know is that the hotel locks the door from 9pm-5am, but gives you a key to the entrance. The only con is that there are very loud trucks during the night and early morning at about 2am, but this would not keep me from staying there again. From the wide selection of San Francisco hotels, I am more than satisfied for choosing the Baldwin.
