My son and I stayed at the Marina Inn during a college visit. This hotel actually has personality, unlike the chain hotels that I so often inhabit during business trips. Excellent rates were accompanied by a clean, comfortable room with bay window views of the city and access to an abundance of fresh air. We loved the corner room for the views, but the traffic noise was a little more than I would have liked. Fortunately, we were very active, running after cable cars and bicycling to SFSU near Daly City, so we slept soundly anyway. The continental breakfast was basic, but free and filling. The wifi access was not accessible in our room; had to go to the landing above the lobby to access. Very sufficient for low-bandwidth activity and I was able to get my work done as needed. The staff were friendly and helpful and very patient even when I argued with the front desk clerk about how the wifi works (he was right I was wrong, mea culpa).
