Great location, and right price

This is the second year I have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Austin, TX. I think the fact that I booked it two consecutive years says something. The lobby is quant, and not overwhelming, and all of the staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. My only quip was that the air conditioner in our room was VERY loud, and even when we turned it off the fan still blew like something was stuck in it. I am sure we could have switched rooms, but we checked in very late and did not have the energy. Honestly, I would stay there again. It's more budget friendly than staying at the Hilton, and within the same walking distance to 6th Street. Since 6th is where all the good times happen, it's a perfect location for walking to and from. The walls aren't the thickest, but not many party-aged travelers stay here (from my experience) so loud, drunken 20-somethings are not a problem. The bar/restaurant on the top floor is great to look out over downtown, especially in a storm! My only cons would be that there are limited parking options and the pool is small and does not receive lots of sun. If you want to lay out, tan and enjoy the Texas weather this is not the place to stay for you.
