This hotel stood out from the rest, no doubt! It has a quirky feel to it that is hard to describe, quaint, almost artsy, but very comfortable. The location is unbeatable...Jakes Famous restaurant is a stone's throw, and most of all, the amazing Pearl District of Portland is practically across the street. Stop in at Whole Foods for excellent prepared food or walk over to one of the most popular bookstores in the US, Powells Books..There's galleries galore, kitchy shopping venues and all sorts of great cafes and brewpubs. I would return to the Mark Soencer for any occasion.
