Staff was friendly, but rooms were bad.

When we walked into our room we really thought about leaving this hotel and finding something else, but we had family meeting us there. The hotel is older and it doesn't look like much has been done to take care of it. I can take older, but the cabinets in the kitchen were old wood with chipped paint and the the counters were old chipped formica. We didn't even want to use the kitchen. It looked pretty bad-old stove, not sure if it was rustu or just dirty. The carpet was pretty grungy and looked like it had not been vacuumed before we got there. I don't believe the edges of the carpeting had been vacuumed in a looooong time. Looked like someone spilled a beverage on the alarm clock and it never was completely cleaned up. We could not access our deck because the flooring was rotting out, so if we wanted to have a view or get some air circulation in our room we looked out on trash and cigarette butts that had been thrown out of the sliding glass door and noone bothered to clean up. We wanted a connecting room with the rest of our family that we were meeting. Their connecting rooms have 2 flights of stairs going up to the other room. Not good for young children. And the room upstairs was just as bad as ours. We didn't spend much time in the room, which was definitely a good thing. I honestly think it was the worst hotel experience I have had, and the friendliness of the staff was not enough to make up for it.
