I have stayed at the Hotel Cozumel before. If you have high expectations for the price, this may not be the place for you. The rooms are pretty standard, but I was there to dive, not hang out in my room. The beds aren't the most comfortable but they are adequate. The pillows are horrible (so consider bringing your own). I was on the first floor on the pool side. It was quite noisy so if you stay there I would recommend requesting a third level room on the ocean side of the hotel. The hotel offers an all-inclusive package that is cheap compared to most all-inclusives. The drawback is that there is only one restaurant open for each meal (plus a snack bar by the pool) and it is only buffet-style. The food is only fair. However, the hotel is a short cab ride (or 15-20 minute walk) from the main downtown plaza where you can find numerous eating options. There is a dive shop on-site and the staff there is great! The shore diving there is also good and easily accessable. All-in-all a descent place to stay, especially if you are looking for an inexpensive long weekend.
