On May, 2010, taking advantage of a great offer on Travelocity website I stayed 5 nights at the Sofitel Golden Mile-Montreal, Canada. The hotel is sleek and modern, has a luxurious loby with candle lights and the staff was absolutely impecable in providing services. Immediately after arriving, I checked-in hours before the standard policy and even without asking, the floor houskeeper graciousely helped me to re-set the A/C. The room was immaculately clean, excellent duvets, great bathroom with all amenities to put you in a relaxing mood. Perfectly located, Sofitel is at walking or short ride distance from many city's major attractions (3 blocks form the Museum of Fine Arts, one block from the Metro/Subway station Peel or just couple of blocks from Sainte Catherinne St.) and is surrounded by many fine boutiques and dining restaurants. I had a memorable stay, an outstanding experience and I highly recommend this hotel. Tips: -Several and very affordable self-rentals bicycle racks (one is located just vis-a-vis from the hotel) inviting you to explore more: The St.Joseph's Oratory, the Old Port or the Botanical Garden. - For an authentique French breakfast, do not miss the two stories "Boulangerie Ou Pain Dore", 2 blocks down on Peel St., and serving baguettes, croissants, pastries and sandwiches made to order, all absolutely amazing. - One of the best secrets in town: from the airport, use the City's Rapid Transit Bus (only $14.00 R/T) with stops closer to all major hotels and Metro/Subway stations.
