You have to love this monumental hotel, with its panoramic vistas and prime location in the center of the city. Great suites with oriental comforts and functional layout for the visiting businessman or tourist. Excellent amenities - dining especially, but a very nice spa, too. Dinner or drinks at Vertigo is a once in a lifetime experience for food and the incredible view and ambiance. Service is omnipresent without being overbearing, and very personal for a large hotel. Feels like a small hotel. Weaknesses - Access to the pool and locker rooms is via the spa, and you are made to feel a little like an intruder when going for a swim, steam or sauna in the beautiful facility (ie - non purchasing visitor). Annoying, given the cost of the stay. Shower/bath soaps are all lotion based, and do not really clean, so bring your own. 5 Stars - will definitely patronize banyan tree again.
