"Room location makes all the difference"

We stayed in two different rooms recently with two very different experiences. Room with courtyard view was modern, quiet, with large luxurious tub in a recently-renovated marble bath. Our second room was on the street side, equipped with an older bath with miniscule shower stall, and noisy. The street in front of the hotel has large trash and recycle dumpsters that get empied nightly between 11 and 4 am, so be prepared to be awakened by banging dumpsters and deisel engine noise. The front rooms also get a lot of street traffic noise. Staff was very helpful and they're clearly used to working with tourists who may or may not speak Italian.
