This is an excellent choice if you're looking for a resort on the main strip in Cancun. Food was excellent, drinks were good, service was great, etc. Watch out for the 'trips' they offer. We wanted to see the underwater sculpture park at Isla Mujeres. The smooth operator who checked us in said they have a day trip there including the sculpture park, so we booked it. Turned out it was a stupid giant "booze cruise" ferry with obnoxiously loud music and guides. We felt kidnapped and were practically forced to pay for additional tourist trap excursions, none of which included snorkeling at the sculpture park. Fortunately my wife speaks spanish so we hopped in a cab once we reached the island and rented a private boat with a guide who took us snorkeling at the park and some other reefs, all for about the same price as the rip-off "swim with the dolphins in their gross tiny cages" tour. Also, just pay the $35 taxi fare for the nice private SUV transportation from the airport, rather than messing around with the shared ride vans that take forever and you have to remember to book days in advance before you leave.
