First off, I like the layout and in room amenities of this Hyatt Place, as well as the location is super convenient to Buckhead's shopping attractions in addition to easy access to downtown Atlanta. However, this is my second visit to this hotel and it is really starting to become really beat-in. The first room I was given was full of scratched furniture and dirty carpet with lots of ground in spots. Not somewhere i could put down my baby. Second room was better, however there was a pervasive smell of burning machine oil (I think coming from the elevator) that was a worry in our room. I would definitely recommend requesting a room far from the elevator. Beds are now suffering from lumps and body divots, and the really functional sectional sofa was fraying and plastic edging was showing through the piping from rub and wear. Public areas were not vacuumed and I doubt that most of the floors have been cleaned on low turn-over nights. Hotel lists (even on the internal tv channel) that there is an indoor pool- that is not the case; there is a heated outdoor pool only. The staff was mainly nice and accommodating, but I would look for another place to stay the next time I'm in Atlanta, unless Hyatt decides to refurbish this location.
