Our trip was awsome. Where to start... for those that have never been to Jamaica, leave your fast-paced lifestyle at home, your going on vacation and Jamaica is very laid back so if your in a hurry this is not the place for you to visit. Our room was very nice, clean, housekeeping came every day had no problems with our room. One thing that is a negative about the room is the beds are super firm and hard, almost like sleeping on the floor at home. The food was very good, there is something for everyone at the buffets. Be sure if you go to the buffet to walk around all the buffet tables and seek items out for there was always something better at the next table over. And yes, you have to get in line at 8 am to make reservations for the specality restaurants but the good news about this is you get to make them for 2 nights. The pool is very clean and nice. Great drinks at the pool bar, plenty of shade and sun areas around the pool. The beach is very nice and clean with some shade if you so desire. The locals do not bother you as much as you think, a polite "no thanks" seemed to work more often than not. Be prepared for wild adventure if you take the bus anywhere, very crazy drivers all over. The Chukka Zipline Tour was the best adventure we went on and the guides Hollywood and Kim were amazing. Went to Rick's Cafe too, neat place to check out. All in all Riu Palace Tropical Bay was a fantastic resort, all employees were very helpful and kind, well kept and clean. Have an amazing time and remember your on vacation, so relax and crack open a cold Red Stripe.
