Charming, quiet, good service

A nice hotel. The rooms are in a historic building (wood-plank floors, etc.), so don't expect a sleek atmosphere, but the advantage of old buildings is that the walls are thick! Very quiet and peaceful. Also impeccably clean. TV equipment in the room was pretty antiquated, but I didn't come to beautiful Charleston to watch television. The staff was helpful when I arrived very late at night, and also assisted me in getting transport to the airport. (Though I was a bit unhappy that they recommended a car service that was no cheaper than a taxi I could have called myself.)
