I was in Azteca for week of Sep.26, 2010. The staff is nice and friendly all over (with a few exceptions). Food and service in buffet was very good. Some say that the same menu for breakfast could make you get bored with the food, but there are so many items to choose from, that you can make your own breakfast be different every day. Where else can you get a fresh picked papaya with queso fresco [fresh cheese] every morning? I also liked freshly made guacamole at lunch. My only complaint that there has never been a choice of a lamb meat for lunch or dinner. Mostly pork, chicken, or beef. I had dinners in Italian restaurant: Great food and service. The sports and entertainment are on the top of the agenda in Azteca and run by high energy people. They entertain you from early morning till late into the night. I liked those guys that I had most contacts with (sorry for misspelled names): Sports manager Jonathan, Water sport manager Araman – calm, soft spoken, knowledgeable guy, Elario, a new guy who helped me with tennis. They make a vacation more enjoyable. I noticed that Azteca has old windsurfing equipment. It would be nice if Wyndham can provide new sails and boards. In addition, these guys need tools and repair kits to maintain windsurfing gear. The support for sailing sports, which are ecologically clean, will fit into Wyndham’s Going Green image. Beach is quite large. Bottom is sandy, so you do not need water shoes for swimming. Tennis courts are on the roof of a building where you can enjoy a nice view between the games. The Reception people were always helpful with resolving any outstanding issues.
