We enjoyed the resort for the most part. We stayed in the presdiental suite with the jacuzzi on the balcony and that was, by far, the best part of the trip. Even facing the street, the view was fantastic with the city lights and La Isla Mall lit up right across the street. The jacuzzi you have to fill yourself which was quick and easy. The room was super spacious, very clean, and nicley decorated. There was always the smell of paint and harsh chemicals through out the hotel though. The food and drinks were good and with both there was lots to choose from (on the all-inclusive plan). We only ate at the Italian restraunt once and stayed in the buffet the rest of the time. It was very nice we just didn't want to get all dressed up to go. The beach was fantastic. It was a good walk from the water to the nearest bar though. They had plenty of lounge chairs and several umbrellas on the beach and around the pool. The biggest downfall of the hotel was the time share (a.k.a "Holliday") staffers. I read mixed reviews about the issue before we left and in my opinion, they really did ambush tourists at the door. The worst part was that they were always there! When I go on vacation I want to realx, not be hasseled. The activities the hotel promoted were almost always cancelled too. We stayed at the Rui Cancun a couple years back and this was quite a decline in comparison. For the price I think the hotel was right on target. I couldn't have expected more for the price we paid.
