In comparison to other hotels offered, this is about a mid-range priced hotel, that I would say is for a traveler who is not expecting deluxe accommodations with five star service. Elysees Union Hotel is a good and clean hotel that is a little dated, but I would give it its highest marks for location. It is set on a quiet street about midpoint between the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, both within easy walking distance. Directly outside the hotel is a small market and a quaint Trattoria where you can enjoy an outdoor evening meal with a lovely view of the the Eiffel Tower lit up in the background. As for the specifics of the hotel, it isn't anything fancy, but definitely has that European feel with the spiral staircase that can be used in lieu of the elevator should you choose. It is a traditional European Hotel, not very large but the open-out windows in the room that overlook the courtyard are 100% European, loved it. The room size is adequate, we had a double bed plus a twin size so that made it a little bit tighter. The bathroom was on the small side, but up-to-date with excellent water pressure and heating. Pay the extra for the daily breakfast, which is the traditional European continental - breads with jam, cereals, yogurt and fruit along with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. It was a filling, but light way to start the day. The city is 100% accessible from the metro entrance that is located 1 1/2 - 2 short blocks from the hotel. As stated previously, this hotel is located on a quiet one way street that is just a block over from a major one, Ave Kleber. It is close to the action along with restaurants and stores, but easily enough able to escape the noise and traffic to the quiet of Rue de Hamelin where the Elysees Union is located.
