We had a very nice visit and stay in Waikiki at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The location at the end of the beach was very cool for sunsets, views of Diamond head and for walking basically everywhere. The marina is right there, the "Beach Walk" is right there, food, activities, people watching all right there.
My very minor complaint would be that, while at the pool, you can hear the live music coming from the beach front restaraunt and also the piped in pool music-very distracting when trying to relax or read a book. Also there are no umbrellas at the pool so if you want shade get there early-it's not like Mexican resorts where you can ask for an umbrella in the afternoon. The pool area beverage service is spotty and the pool bar will definitely be stocked before they make eye contact with you, having said that-the mojitos are worth the wait.
There were also some construction barries to paths and noise coming from what looked like refurbishing of the balconies on the Tapa Tower - so - cheers to you people who get to enjoy that in the future. Our balcony was nice and clean with a lovely view and we had some dove visitors each eveing which was fun.
There's millions of children. Millions. The 'diapers in the pool policy' does not appear to be enforced with any sort or regularity-swim diapers are supposed to be used but LOTS of babies and toddlers without any diaper let alone a swim diaper.
There's no smoking allowed on the property which is nice.
The property is lovely and well manicured, it feels and looks totally cared for and clean.
