During a stay in late February, 2011, I felt the Casa Marina was in disarray. The wifi that should have covered our room was usually only 1 bar strong so it was slower than dial-up. The Concierge, when he finally spoke to me, told me he was too busy to help me book an activity. There should be as many concierges as needed to service every guest. The boiler temporarily failed so showers went cold for a while. At this price range these things simply should not happen. Henry Flagler would be appalled! He might also have been a little put off by petulant teenage behavior of some of the guests, of all ages, particularly in the lobby and around the pool.
On the other hand, Mark at the pool was a whirlwind of unceasing activity from before breakfast until late afternoon in spite of much younger colleagues who wandered about in an apparent daze. Our waitress at the restaurant outside (Jenn?) was gracious and happy and a real pleasure.
In sum, it is not a bad place to stay but by a wide margin it does not live up to its own hype. As a fancy hotel boasting great amenities it was a big letdown.
