This was the second time I have stayed in this hotel and both times were a great experience. The rooms are large by Japanese standards, the service is pleasant and quick with no tipping. The location is excellent for subway use since the Akakasa station is less than a one block walk. The area seems very safe at night well lit and lightly populated even after 12. The neighborhood is business/pleasure with all conveniences within a block or two. There is a lovely little Japanese/French Cafe near-by for light fare- pastries, sandwiches, coffee, teas, desserts etc. Hotel has several eating options, even a "Potomac Restaurant" that serves western style food- great hamburgers! Elevators are many and fast. Front desk very responsive. There are always taxis ready at the front door. The hotel facade is lit with festive Christmas lights in late November. Tastefully done. I have heard this hotel may be replaced with a newer hotel which is a shame since it is so comfortable, the decor is good, slightly dated, but clean. English speaking employees can easily be found. The gift store is quite nice with unusual gifts for most price ranges. The front desk is happy to check your luggage if you want to travel away from Tokyo for a short stay elsewhere with no charge! Also, near the elevator bank is a wall of clocks showing the time in different international cities. Another nice touch. Price is good.
