I drove a friend to Memphis to catch a train. We searched for the hotel- our first stop being the Holiday Inn (right next to the Benchmark). Coming from previously working at a Holiday Inn, I was flabbergasted about how rude the staff was. Because of this, my friend and I decided to walk over to the Benchmark. The lady behind the desk had one of the best customer service attitudes I have seen come from a front desk attendant. Smiling and making conversation with me made my day. The manager also came out and was very nice. She told me that they are an older hotel and would be going through a remodel soon. I like to hear stories about hotels and their history. The manager was kind enough to get me a brochure of this establishment. We then went up to the room, which was HUGE. We were very pleased. The staff then helped us by giving us the best directions for our dinner plans (with the hotel being right downtown, you can smell fabulous BBQ EVERYWHERE). The staff also very politely assisted in directing me on my way back home the next day. All around great trip!!!
