My husband and I travel several times per year and like to check out new places, especially at great prices. This was the first vacation where we were a bit disappointed with our selection. The staff and service, apart from housekeeping, was tremendous. Being that it was the down season, we had a lot of great attention. The buffet was different themed each night, which kept things interesting, and we ate in the Jardin one evening which was also a very nice experience. However, the mattress and box spring was not very comfortable, and the linens were not cozy. The maid service just met expectation. They did the basics, but I would expect clean towels each day and a made up bed. I wore flip flops in the room all the time because the tile grout did not look clean, and we resolved an ant issue on our own by removing the complimentary tea/coffee/sugar basket and placing it on the patio. Again, being the down season, many of the activities were cut in half. The Jardin was closed all but two of the nights we were there. The free included golf lesson got cancelled due to rain and wasn't rescheduled. There are no clocks anywhere on the property, which can be good or bad, when on vacation I suppose. Helpful though to know when the food was available. Beach was about a half mile walk. We are active and liked to walk, but be warned, even though this is a gated complex, many street vendors are eager to make your aquaintance along the way. The plaza located on the property was funny to me because every store seemed to sell the exact same stuff- the same stuff the beach vendors try and get you to buy...
