The Inn and Spa at Loretto is a classic Santa Fe style accomodation. It is decorated with an understated elegance, the staff is extraordinarily friendly and very accomodating. The in-hotel restaurant is excellent. The employees are highly accomodating and very courteous. Location is superior, a mere simple one block walk off the plaza. The rooms are a bit over-priced for the size and amenities, particularly considering there was no hair drier provided in the room, now a standard offering in even the cheapest national motels. Additionally, despite the highly priced rooms, there are hidden charges and excessively priced in-room offerings such as $* per bottle water and the price nearly doubles if you mistakenly take the bottle with you! Nothing "complimentary" here. The in room coffee is good, but the arrangements for brewing it were annoying, as no well-placed outlet was available. Bath towles are small and rough, poor quality considering the image the hotel is trying to project. No side table on which to place drinks while watching TV, and we had to share a pathetically small footstool. And the, there are the additonal daily fees...including an additional $* per day just for the privilege of parking, a fee for miscellaneous hotel services all of which added up to an additional $* for our three-day reserved stay. We were forced to leave a day early because of a major snow storm...no refund assistance offered through the hotel...they referred us to the website to try to recover our $* per night cost. Additional charges for using the exercise facility, as well. Everything, many which are inclusive in many upscale facilities, are charged for here. Would we stay again? Maybe. But the Hilton a couple of blocks away and close to the plaza offers a lot more for a lost less money.
