Although not located within the Vail or Lionshead Villages, this hotel is a mere 5-10 minute shuttle ride away, which the hotel operated between the hours of 8 AM to 8:30 PM every day. After a long day at the slopes, there is really no reason to leave. I agree with one of the previous travelers that this was more like a resort. The rooms, while not elegant, were remarkably clean and comfortable for a skiing hotel. The three onsite restaurants served decent food and all had bars. The massage studio was also key after a day skiing or showshoeing. The pool and hottub were also well maintained and decorated. Plus the rooms had safes for valuables.
For a family or anyone generally on a budget, these accomodations were more than suitable for a skiing vacation.
In addition, a short walk through the parking lot led you to a shopping center that had a McDonald's, Taco Bell, coffee shop, a Sports authority, and a Safeway supermarket with a Starbuck's inside.
Stay here and you'll definately have more cash for souvenirs and apres ski.
My only suggestion for the hotel is to add a refigerator and microwave to the rooms. That way the Safeway can be utilized more effectively, and you can save some of the oversized portions of food at the restaurants!!!
