Where do I start??? First off, the service was wonderful and friendly...Cancun has to be one of the cleanest Mexican cities we've ever traveled to, so that was a very nice surprise too! The food was great, always available at one of the many buffet options...I was particularly happy to see that there were dining options for folks who are on a low-calorie/low cholesterol diet (foods like salmon, fresh green peppers, shrimp, salads, juices!). I was very pleased that I could eat as much as I wanted, and still LOSE weight while on this trip! Also, the staff were very courteous and friendly, very prompt at helping out. Our room had the most spectacular view I've ever experienced, as we got the upgrade to one of the many "tub rooms." If you go to Cancun, btw, it's super-easy to get around via bus (there is only one main road, so it's very hard to get lost!), or by taxi, although bus is almost as fast as a cab, and MUCH cheaper! A tip...get your American currency exchanged at one of the other neighboring hotels, as ours had one of the worst exchange rates around. This was a wonderful experience, and we really had no issues with this hotel! It is centrally located, has a very nice, beautiful beach, unheated pools (but on a hot day, it doesn't really matter that much), and the hot tubs are not jacuzzis, but rather just regular outdoor tubs that you fill up with water. Check out Coco Bongo's while you're in town, but be aware that it doesn't open till 11pm, and the $* per person cover charge gets you all you can drink. (We got there late and opted for paying $* per, just for cover charge.)
