We were originally scheduled to stay two nights, but ended up staying 4 because our bus was canceled due to the snowstorm. The room was disappointing -- -- outdated and quite shabby. The bed actually dipped it was so old. There was freezing cold air coming through the window where they'd taken out the window air conditioner. But...the room was clean and the staff was amazing. They tried to help block out the cold air, promptly brought additional towels and blankets upon request, and gave us a good rate on the two extra nights. I understand the hotel is gradually updating the rooms, which is good news!
Two things you should be aware of: they charge $9.95 a day for wireless internet and their continental breakfast is $12. Don't waste your money. Instead go down the street two blocks (on 8th) and eat at Carvers. Delicious for breakfast, lunch and dessert!!!!!
The hotel is in a GREAT location. Everything is convenient via walking or the subway. We were in NYC 5 days and never needed to take a cab. I would stay here again. I'd ask for one of the renovated rooms.
