This hotel was very clean but outdated. The hotel is nestled in the trees as much as you can be so close to the highway and city. You won't find hiking trails or rooms that open up to the great outdoors. It was close to Santa Cruz which was great because looking at the hotels in Santa Cruz they appeared to have small parking lots and like most establishments in this area they felt lacking in space. Of course, I'm from Texas and we still have wide open spaces. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. The breakfast offerings were good for grab something to drink and run but not much else. So that will not help families with off-setting meal costs, if that is the plan. If I were to do over or wanted to spend more time on the beach I would opt for something in town, like the new Holiday Inn for the price.
