We have always enjoyed the history of Hotel Colorado and stay at least one weekend a year. We enjoy the hotsprings, caverns, bike paths, etc. Of course, it is a historic hotel with its "character" and lack of updated amenities. We expect that and actuallye enjoy it.
Our last (and I do mean LAST) stay, was awful. I made the reservations for our family of four several months ahead of time so we could have two rooms with an adjoining bath. It has always worked well for us in the past. Upon our arrival the staff was extremely rude and informed us that we would need two rooms on separate floors because of a wedding. We finally got some resolution after calling another hotel. The room we got had a ceiling fan which fell off the ceiling. Thier electrician/handyman confirmed it was broken and did nothing. Itwas hot in July and no fan. When we asked for a box fan, they didn't have any. My concerns were met with blank stares and no one offered any suggestions. The wedding went on all nite. I later found out that the hotel was under new management so I contacted them and met with no response. The rudeness of everyone there and the genuine lack of concern virtually ruined our stay. Next time we'll stay at the HotSprings Hotel so we can have access to the springs.
