Disappointed

We are here now and extremely disappointed with the new owner. We have stayed here at least once a year since 2002. After this year's experience, we probably won't come back. It depends on whether the manager will fix our current problems. The common areas are not as clean as they used to be and you can smell the trash when entering the main entrance. The worst part is it's Monday, June 29th and they don't have shampoo or blankets and sheets for the sofa bed for the second day in-a-row. This hotel once had fun enterainment at the pool with a DJ and pool bar. One year they even had parrot head weekend fundraiser with Margaritaville broadcasting from here with entertainment each night. The new managament discontinued the DJ as a way to save money, hoping more people would spend their time at the water park and spend more money at the River City Cafe. From what we see, it pretty much killed the atmosphere and the pool bar. I guess now we can find a seat at anytime around the pool. Not sure how keeping guests away from the pool and pool bar will make you money. The DJ and entertainment made it worth paying the price for an aging hotel. With out the atmosphere, you can stay in many better places for the same price or less.
