You Get What You Pay For

I have mixed reviews on this hotel. Upon arrival, the desk clerk gave me a handicap room which I did not request or want. I reserved my room online and had a print out of my reservation and a detailed description of what the room contained. After I showed the desk clerk my paperwork, she gave me the correct room. The exterior of the building and all of the public areas, such as the lobby, the area where the breakfast is served were clean. The carpet in my room was a dark green color but it was in need of shampooing. The walls of my room needed painting. There were some noticeable marks or stains on the wall. The chair at the desk needed replacing. The fabric looked old and worn. The back of the chair was in a lean back position. You could not sit upright and have your back supported. The free breakfast was good and the staff was helpful and kind. The housekeeper that cleaned guest room did a good job. I think this hotel is do for a major renovation, such as painting the guest room, replacing or cleaning the carpets, replacing the furniture or re-touching up the worn spots. What did I like about this hotel? The bed slept good or I had a good night sleep. The bathroom was clean and everything was in good working order. I have stayed at other Hampton Inns. Some were fabulous and others were barely acceptable, like this one.
