We stayed at Kahala Hotel for 7 nights during our honeymoon and couldn't be happier. We were stunned by the gorgeous lobby and the welcoming staff. The bed was comfy and the bathroom is large. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. It is secluded in a quieter area but is very close to the crowd (about 10-15 minutes drive). If you like to experience both worlds of Hawaii, this is a perfect place to stay. It is a little pricey than other hotels in waikiki but it is well worth it. You can watch dolphin all day long and you don't have to be at the pool/beach with 3000 other people. Some of the attraction might not be available in this hotel i.e. surfing lesson is offered but you will have to travel to Waikiki.
Restaurant wise, we were not pleased with Plumeria for dinner, but definitely try Hoku. Plumeria offered breakfast buffet for $30 and it is quite nice if you want to enjoy your morning by the beach with your breakfast. High tea is also offered at 3-5 pm daily at the Veranda. Also, there is jazz night starting at around 6-10.30. We fall in love with Kahala Hotel and will definitely suggest it to other people and come back very soon.
