I stayed in this hotel in March, 2009. The ONLY positve thing I could say about this hotel is that when I checked in, the front dest manager was the one who checked me in. EVERYTHING after that went down hill.
Our room was next to the stairs, in which you could hear groups of teenagers running up and down till 1:00 a.m. When I called to report this at 10:50 p.m., along with the fact that we only had one set of towels in the room, we were told by a fairly rude employee that we'd have to wait till security came on at 11:00 p.m. to get more towels. She said they had received several complaints about the teens. Why wasn't something done at an earlier time of night, if there were so many complaints? I was annoyed that I had to wait for towels at that time of night when they should have already been in the room before checking in.
I live in the area but due to my work schedule, I don't always have time to make it home so I do sometimes opt to stay in local hotels to save driving . This was the first, and last time, I've stayed at this hotel. I have stayed at the one in Chespeake on two different occasions and would do so again. They gave excellent service, putting the Hampton Holiday Inn to more shame than they did for themselves.
The carpet in the room was old with stains in it. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was in a Motel 6, or a cheaper economy hotel than a Holiday Inn.
