We stayed at the Hotel Minerva in early June of 2009. It is a beautiful property with a real European feel, wonderful service, a relaxing atmosphere and one of the best panoramic views of the Bay of Naples in Sorrento.
The interior and exterior are charming and distinctive. The tiles in our room matched the wood design on the bed. It has an extensive outdoor seating area for the restaurant as well as for enjoying drinks or just the unbelievable view. It also has a very nice interior seating area and lobby. The hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Sorrento -- I wore a pedometer and I think it was about a mile one way -- but I enjoyed the excercise and the scenic walk.
The hotel had two pool areas and both offered gorgeous views, exceptional service and a lot of room. We happened to make a change in our reservation adding on a night and we found the walk up rate for this hotel was considerably cheaper. Although we would've happily paid the full rate.
They also served their coffee hot, which wasn't the case for other places we stayed! We choose to venture into town for our meals, so I can't comment on their dinner selection. Breakfast was varied, but typical of the other breakfast with a lot of bread, cereal, yougart, meat and fruit. I think they offered eggs as well.
