The lodge is very nice, so are the grounds and views of surrounding mountains. However, you won't be staying in the ""lodge"". The complex is very large, comprised of many buildings - most of them being 2 story motels with outside corridors. There's a few buildings with inside corridors (don't know how you get those rooms). There's a trolley that runs around the complex that will take you to the rooms, stores, restaurants and lodge. The ""motel like"" building we stayed in 8/30-31/08 had 2 stairways leading to our room. (we were in building 5.5) both sets of stairs had carpeting that was threadbare and torn on several steps - an accident waiting to happen. The lighting in the room was poor - especially in the bathroom. The room did not have a closet - only a clothes rack. We didn't have an ice machine or vending machines in our building. We had to walk to another building if we wanted ice. If you've been on a Princess cruise, don't think the room at this ""lodge"" will be anything like Princess' luxurious cruises. We booked this room with a Princess cruise/tour - we were never given any choice of room types in connection with the Wildneress Lodge. We did select a cabin with a veranda for the cruise. So, this was certainly not what we expected on land. This was a very bare bones room - but the shabby carpeting outside was completely unacceptable.
