We spent four nights here in March 2009, three in the lovely corner suite and later, after returning to Rome from Amalfi, a night in a standard room. The place lived up to its billing. In particular, the concierge, was incredibly helpful in arranging tickets, transportation, etc. The rest of the staff were great, too.
The corner suite is like a one-bedroom apartment, with a kitchen (fridge stocked with beverages at no charge), high ceilings and nice furniture. The standard room we had was smaller, but pleasant. Breakfast is included; you choose what you want and when, on a card you leave out the night before, and the tray is brought to your room right on time (with eggs still hot).
I have read other comments about Via Cavour not being the prettiest street in Rome, and that may be true, but it's a safe, busy commercial strip. In truth, Caesar House is a very good location for tourists, just a block or two from sites like the Forum and the Foro Traiano; you walk a block, turn left, and behold the Colosseum!
And many of the sites you will want to visit are within walking distance: Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, etc.
Only one downside to the hotel that we could see: there's a noisy pub in the alley in back of the building, but coming from New York City we didn't let that keep us from sleeping. Restaurant recommendations from concierge were OK, but we found some better places on our own.
In summary, we fell in love with Rome, and we will definitely return to Caesar House.
