I was traveling on business, but since my business was primarily on only one day, I was looking for a nice hotel where I would be conveniently located to also enjoy a partial vacation stay. It's hard to tell in the aerial photo exactly what the neighborhood is like, but I can tell you that my excellent rating on location relates primarily to the fact that the hotel is across the street from the main train station and thereby every major transit line of Munich's very extensive and impressive transit system. And the neighborhood is basically nice with a major department store, several hotel restaurants and such across a confluence of several major roads. However, what they fail to tell you is that that hotel entrance is flanked on both sides by the tackiest things I saw during my entire stay in Munich- a live entertainment sex shop and a casino. But since Munich did not exhibit evidence of a "seedy" culture, this did not pose any problems. The hotel is renovated with a modern style; the lobby is attractive in its simplicity. I would not say that service is their forte (they couldn't even mail my postcards when I was leaving town) although the front desk is friendly. My room had a great 9th floor view of Munich with a flat screen tv mounted and those super comfortable European beds. Breakfast is served in the hotel, but expensive at19 Euros, especially with the dollar so weak. There are numerous places in the neighborhood to get a much more reasonable breakfast. The hotel also gives guests a daily voucher for 15 minutes free internet at a single computer in the lobby. Would definitely stay here again for convenience of location and comfortable modern style- good value for the money.
