Alkmaar is a city to the north of Amsterdam and is about one hour driving away or by train. It’s a town that’s mostly overlooked by tourists although you they might come across it when they are heading towards the beach. It’s a average town in size with a relatively large city center. The city center is full of hotels, restaurant, bars and of course shops and you can easily spend your day here.

I have relatives living near Alkmaar and it’s always a good excuses to meet up with them when we are in the area. We decided to meet them for dinner at this restaurant as it’s a restaurant which is not too expenisve but still decent and enough options for everybody.

The restaurant is located just outside the city center making it easy to park with the car but still walkable when you come here with train. From the train station is think it’s about 20 minutes to walk and otherwise you can always take a taxi.

The restaurant is located in a quiet street with not too much traffic. We arrived at the restaurant around 18 oclock and the restaurant didn’t look that busy at first. We were nicely greeted and showned to the wardrobe were also the toilets are located. At the back of the restaurant was our table located and had a sign reserved.

The inside of the restaurant feels intimate but still was very large. I think there is place for around a hundred people here. At the en of our night the restaurant was almost full and still it had a very intimate atmosphere.

The menu is quiet extensive with lots of options for everyone from starters, main courses and desserts. In the middle of the restaurant you can find a salad bar. I thought the quality of the food was really good and tasted delicious. The portions were lay out neatly and the prices were reasonable.
