I went to Baltimore for the day.

We picked the Capitol City Brewing Company because it was close to the harbor area, and we were doing the Duck Tour. We also had my mother with us, who is old and walks very slow, so we wanted something nearby. We also did not want to spend a fortune for lunch and they had a kids menu. The place was OK, nothing great, my nephew got the skirt steak, but he couldn't chew it. My mother got the fish tacos and my brother tasted them and said they weren't any good. I got a sort of Pad Thai, which was OK, but a little too spicy for me. A few others got crab cake sandwiches which they said were OK/good.

So the food was so-so, not bad, but nothing special. They did give you warm pretzels with the food which were good. Also, they took reservations, and since we were on a schedule, we didn't want to waste time waiting for a table somewhere. All in all, I might go back, but probably would try somewhere else instead first.

Baltimore Duck Tours

We decided to do the duck tour because we thought the aquarium might be too much walking for my mother, so we decided we would try the Duck Tour, since it looked kinda of fun. We called ahead of time to make reservations and everyone was very helpful. We got our tickets and our quakers and headed to the boat. The kids had fun running around and quacking with there wacky quakers (and so did I). We got our picture taken in front of the Duck before we boarded (which we ended up buying on the way out, since it was just about the whole family). Once we boarded our driver/captain explained the tour and she was very good. I got to play Bill, since there was no one on the tour named Bill, and wear a silly crab hat. What is the significance of Bill you ask? Well every duck has a bill! We really enjoyed the tour because we got to see some Baltimore areas that we never seem to venture to when we go there, as we general go to the Harbour area, Aquarium, take the water taxi, etc. Our captain explained the sights on the way and we quacked back and forth with everyone and quacked out the tunes that were playing on the bus. After going through the different areas of Baltimore such as downtown, fell's point, little Italy, etc, we headed into the water and took a leisurely 5 knot trip past the lighthouse, aquarium, and the harbour area, then back on land for a few more sites and back to our boarding area. The tour lasted approximately 90 minutes. I would recommend this tour especially if you want to see some sights without having to walk to all, or you can pick the areas that you want to head back to later. Having the quackers makes it fun, especially if the other people on the tour quack along with you and to the other songs and to the people on the street!
