A highlight of the trip was relaxing at the beach and pool side with the palms swaying in the background. There is lots to do if you want a more active vacation, golf, water sports, horse back riding, and walks along the beach.${QuickSuggestions} If considering an all inclusive resort, try to find one that offers a variety of dining. Many of the deluxe resorts will have a la carte dining options in additional to the buffets, which gets very tiresome after a few days. ${BestWay} For travel from the airport, many of the resorts will provide ground transportation. The trip takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The roads are not in very good condition, and are very narrow and winding in spots so don't consider renting a car.

There are also flights from the airport in Montego Bay to Negril. Flights go about every hour, and it is approx. $65USD for the 20 minute flight.

Hedonism II is an all inclusive resort in Negril, located beachfront (one au natural), across from the Grand Lido Negril, while I did not stay here I did visit it while in Negril. Day and evening passes are available if arranged in advance.

The resort is for ages 18 and older only. It is an older hotel, and some areas appear in need of upgrading. The rooms are clean and brightly decorated but appeared a bit worn and were on the small side. There are mirrored ceilings above the bed. There are no TV''s in the rooms. The rooms are located in low rise building spread around the property. Some of the pathways to the rooms were not very well lit.

There is a buffet restaurant and Italian restaurant. The Italian restaurant is open for dinner only and reservations are requied. There are bars spread throughout the property there for nightly entertainment, and different theme nights, togo, pajama. There is a disco that opens at 11PM.

HEDO II is definitley for the adventurous and open minded. The content is definitly adult.

Cafe Lido

Cafe Lido is one of the dining options included in the all-inclusive plan at the Grand Lido Negril. There is a limited but varied menu each day. There is normally a choice of 4-5 appetizers, (quesdillas, brushetta, jerk pork, papaya, mushroom strudel), followed by soup (tomato and peppers - I think it is their specialty - it was fabulous), choice of salad, (tossed green salad, cucumber/tomato, greek), and 3-4 entrees (choice of stir frys, fish dishes, chicken, lamb, pork). There are also healty choice items on the menu.

This is a very nice alternative to having a buffet every night like you get at some all-inclusives. The Jamacian Rum cheese cake is a great way to top off your meal. Price range above is what I felt it would cost if the restaurant was not on the all inclusive plan.
