Taco Bell

Member Rating 2 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

If you are going to this Taco Bell, be forewarned that the drive-thru is probably the slowest drive-thru ever. It takes at least 10 to 15 minutes when there is nobody there ahead of you. It can take 40 minutes to an hour if it is a busy time of the day. They say 15 minutes, but they really mean longer than that. Still good service other than that. The people are always nice when I get my food, just very very very slow.

Mr. Goodcents

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Mr. Goodcent's has the best subs in town. Their bread is fresh baked every day and the meat and cheeses are cut right there in front of you. They have a ton of varieties of sandwiches and you really can't go wrong with what you buy. They have Turkey Tuesdays where you can get a turkey sub and chips and a drink for under 4 bucks. Great deal!

Mc Alister's Deli

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

McAlisters has amazing salads! They're huge and delicious. Also, if you are going there, grab either their famous lemonade or iced tea. Both are delicious and come in huge portions, like everything else there. They also carry huge baked potatoes stuffed with various things (cheese, chili, roast beef) and yummy sandwiches! Definitely stop if you have the time.

Village Inn

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

I normally go to Village Inn really late at night. Most people on campus go to IHOP, since it is open 24 hours, but very few know about the greatness that is Village Inn. It's open until midnight and has the best pies and hot fudge brownie sundaes. It's extremely cheap and perfect for the college student's budget!

Ryan's Family Steakhouse

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Ryan's is an all-you-can-eat buffet with the best comfort food! It's all incredibly greasy and fattening food, but it is still yummy. The meal costs under 8 bucks with a drink and they usually have four different bars, two with the main meal stuff, a salad bar, and an incredible desert bar! Yummy!

Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

There is something so delicious about Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits. They toss pretty much all of their food with their awesome spices and everything still tastes distinctly different. The best thing about their meals is the amazing biscuits and mashed potatoes... It makes me salivate just thinking about it! Beware though, this place's food has spicy meals. That should be evident by my post, but I figured I'd add a warning just in case.

Outback Steakhouse

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Outback Steakhouse has the corniest commercials but has really tasty food. Always get the awesome blooming onion if you can afford an appetizer. It comes with a yummy tasting sauce to dip in, it's highly addicting! The bread they start you with is amazingly good too. It's a nice dark bread with really good butter. Finally, I recommend the Towumba Pasta for a main meal. It's nice and tasty and comes with various types of shellfish.

New China Chinese Restaurant

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

This buffet is really great. It has awesome Chinese food and good variety for people who don't like Chinese food. (Although, why are you going there if you don't?) I highly recommend the sesame seed chicken and the potatoes they make. Both are delicious! They also have sushi available, though I've never tried it. Be sure to bring your student ID (if you have one) for a 10% discount!

Jade China

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

This place has one of those "hole in the wall" type of feelings. It's located on a side street in a shabby little building. But it has generous portions of good food! The beef and broccoli is really amazing and well worth the money spent. It's a great place to eat and just hang out with friends.

Hardee's

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

I love Hardee's and they are slowly disappearing! They are one of the only fast food places out there that serve so much variety in their food. I love their hot ham and cheese, and their burgers are awesome too. There should be more Hardee's in this state because they are incredible and delicious!

Firehouse Subs

Member Rating 3 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Firehouse subs are different than most of the other fast food sub places. Their subs are heated but not toasted like Quizno's. Because they don't toast them, the cheese and meat on the bread kind of melt into the bread making one amazing sandwich! I recommend the Italian sub. It's good!

El Acapulco

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

El Acapulco has amazing Mexican food for pretty cheap prices. They serve typical stuff: enchiladas, tacos, nachos, etc. You get the standard chips and salsa when starting the meal, but I suggest you get the queso! It's really delicious and doesn't cost that much more. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, but the only problem is when there are a bunch of people there. The checking out place is right by the entrance and can cause havoc when trying to leave. Nice place, though.

Ed's Custom Bakery

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Ed's Bakery is one of the most fantastic places to go in all of Conway. Their cookies are di-vine. I don't exactly know what they do to them, but everything about them is just amazing. They're basically plain sugar cookies with icing, but the cookies are moist and buttery and the icing is rich and creamy. The best part about the cookies is that they last forever and still taste the same a week later!

Now, Ed does know his cookies are good, so they can be expensive if you're just wanting cookies. But Ed also knows that people want these cookies, so he takes all of the leftover dough, cookies that broke during movement, etc and put them in a GIANT bag and sells them for $1.99. Now for the broke college student (like me), this is a great deal. Ed's Bakery does do more than these cookies, but it's their main staple and definitely worth a stop if you're in town!

Marketplace Grill

Member Rating 5 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

This is probably one of the best, nice places around town. The staff are super friendly and willing to cater to your every need. They have a ton of unique items on the menu, like sweet potato fries. The best part about the restaurant is that they are not super expensive, like other places. If you go on your birthday and tell them, then you also get a free chocolate mess (a tall glass covered in chocolate and frozen and then filled with hot chocolate and ice cream-delicious!). Definitely a great place to go.

El Mexicano

Member Rating 5 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 19, 2007

El Mexicano is an establishment here in Conway. It's a nice, clean restaurant that has decent food. While there are better places in Conway to get Mexican food, the restaurant is not bad. The one thing I definitely recommend is the nachos! They are delicious and you get a huge (and I mean HUGE) serving of them.

Tuesday Morning

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

This is an awesome store that, I believe, is a chain. What's great about Tuesday Morning is that they are like an upscale Big Lots. They carry low priced appliances, home decor, and other home items. For instance, I got a brand new four-slot Kitchen Aid toaster for $9.99! While sometimes you have to dig for your good finds (this is the case with many discount stores, so if you're not in it for the hunt, don't bother), the store is well maintained and clean. This makes Tuesday Morning a must stop for those bargain hunters among us!

Game X Change

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Let's face it, in today's society, buying a new game every time one comes out for every system that exists would rack up to way more money than anyone could ever have. Even if you only have one system and are just a casual gamer, eventually you will finish that game and want a new one. At 50 bucks a pop, this can add up and fast. With places like the Game XChange, this transition becomes a bit easier. Here, you can turn in your old finished (or boring or whatever) games for other games, in good condition. These games are low in price because other customers do the same. It's a gamers' paradise! What's more, Game XChange has games from other, older systems to buy. It's a fantastic place to go!

Dress Barn

Member Rating 1 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Ok, so I've always had a huge problem with Dress Barn. They have fantastically cute clothes in regular sizes. In fact, the other day, I went there and there is a chocolate brown dress that I covet! My problem, however, is that when I go to the plus size section of the store, there is not a single thing from the regular sized section over there. All that is ever on the plus size section is what I dream to be "mother of the bride" and "teacher". Is that all that they think plus size ladies can wear? And what I don't understand is why they can't just replicate the clothes from the one side onto the other side. Us plus size girls want to look nice too, you just need to make the clothes a little bit bigger!

Hastings Books, Music & Video

Member Rating 5 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 2, 2007

Do you ever feel the need to go shopping for books, music, video games, movies, and more? Well, Hastings Entertainment Store is the place to go for all of that! Hastings is great, because not only do they sell a variety of entertainment goods, but they do it at a much lower price than most other chains. What is really great about Hastings, is that you can bring in your old stuff to trade in. They also have rentals, for those of you who do not want to purchase the product that day. Everything you could want, all in one place!

Cinemark Cinema Six

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 19, 2007

Of the two movie theaters in town, this one is the nicest. It also gets some of the better films, i.e. the "indie films." While the selection isn't always the best in terms of the rest of the movies they show (they only have 6 theaters, and seem to get the left overs from the other theater), it's a very nice, clean theater with good staff. Definitely choose this one over the Faulkner!

Pet Country

Member Rating 4 out of 5 by ttrllvr on January 20, 2007

Pet Country is a pretty unique store, in that they carry a variety of items that you can't pick up at Wal-Mart or Target. Sadly, since Pet Smart moved into town, I'm afraid that they won't have as much of a customer base as before. But, if you want to support your local business sector, stop by this store instead of the chain! They have everything from ferret cages and guinea pigs to hermit crabs and doggie beds! Definitely worth the stop.
