Beaches and Shopping in Jacksonville

There is plenty of shopping in Jacksonville at Regency Square Mall, Orange Park Mall, and the more upscale Avenues Mall. This is a VERY large area and the shopping centers are spread out. The city can be very busy, not just downtown, but everywhere. Huguenot Memorial Park is a nice area that is surrounded by ocean, inlet, and river. The zoo is also wonderful.${QuickSuggestions} ${BestWay}

This is a nice zoo. All of the exhibits are large and roomy for the animals. Since I have last been there, a very nice water play area has been built, though I have yet to see it. To get from exhibit to exhibit can be a little bit of a trek in the Jacksonville heat. There aren't many places to sit and take a rest, and shade is nill. Recommended to go on a cooler day.

Huguenot Memorial Park

The park is surrounded by ocean, inlet, and river, Huguenot Memorial Park is located on Fort George Island. Driving and parking are permitted on the beach. Just a nice place to hang out, relax, read, walk the beach, and watch ships and barges go out. The sand is nice and packed towards the ocean (comparable to Daytona Beach. On some lucky days I go there and there will only be only a handful of people there.
