We were disappointed with our stay at Club Vacances Magog. We were there off-season, and there was not very much to do.

Best Things Nearby:MontrealBest Things About the Resort:We stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite that had a washer and dryer, so the space was more than adequate and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. We also enjoyed renting videos from the front desk and the fireplace. Resort Experience:We stayed at this resort in April, which is off-season. It isn’t cold enough to ski, nor is it warm enough to enjoy other activities in the surrounding countryside or in the nearby lake. Many of the local shops and attractions were closed for this reason. While we enjoyed the opportunity to drive for a little over an hour to get to the many attractions of Montreal, it was too far of a drive to do on a daily basis. Since many of the restaurants, shops and other attractions in the surrounding area where closed for the season, we were forced to spend a good deal of time in the room. We rented movies from the front desk and were pleased with their selection. Besides that though, we were not having very much fun and became bored by about Wednesday on a Saturday to Saturday trip.
Although they claim they have an indoor/outdoor pool, there was only an outdoor pool, and it was obviously not open during April in Canada. There was also a charge applied for the pool, rock climbing wall or tennis, which although it is described as ‘on-site’ was actually in a building across the road which was owned by another group.
One of the major complaints we had about the resort was that the walls were very thin. We were there off-season, but there was one other family staying in the same building as us, in the unit below ours. We could hear every step they took, every word they spoke. Whether they were or not, they seemed quite loud since we could hear them so clearly and at all hours of the night. We do not recommend this resort during the off-season. It is located in a very small town, which is too far from Montreal to rationalize a daily drive. We also found that while plenty of people speak English in Montreal, most people in Magog only speak French and do not understand English.
