Here are the details of my summer trips to St. Louis.

Harvest is a must for anyone desiring a first-class dining experience in St. Louis. I visited Harvest as a guest for a wine tasting and dinner. The evening focused around a particular winery's California Syrah. Each wine was perfectly paired to a uniquely crafted dish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is attentive and eager to please.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis' main season runs from the end of May through the month of June. Even if the idea of going to the opera has never appealed to you, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis might be the company that changes your mind. First and foremost, they only present operas in English (translated). But more importantly, the quality of each production is incredible. Go for the scenery, go for the voices, go for the costumes... just GO! (And take a picnic to enjoy on the lawn before the performance!) You won't be disappointed.
The St. Louis Zoo is the best zoo I have ever visited! Not only do they have a wide variety of animals on display, but you never run into the problem of not being able to see an animal. Each "stage" is designed to seem as natural as possible, affording you the closest view without putting you in any immediate danger. The prairie dogs, hippos, penguins/puffins, and zebras were my particular favorites. Families, couples, and individuals will all feel welcome. If you go during the week, you will feel less crowded. I have visited more than 10 times and have never been disappointed! In fact, I still can't get over the fact that it is free!!!
