Grand Mayan Acapulco: Not So Grand

Having been to Mexico eight times already, we greatly looked forward to visiting Acapulco for the first time.

Honestly, there were very few. We did enjoy the restaurants that are on the mountain and have terrific views. Try to find the more local ones. Even Senor Frogs was fun.${QuickSuggestions} ${BestWay} We always rent a car. If you can drive in New York City, you can drive anywhere in the world.

Best Things Nearby:
Lots of good restaurants

Best Things About the Resort:
The facilities were excellent. The rooms large and modern. The pool is huge and has a lazy river. Service for the most part was excellent.

Resort Experience:
As we arrived a bit late, we chose to eat dinner at one of the resort's restaurants, Tumtah. We had marvelous margaritas while we waited for our table. Dinner was very good. We highly recommend the fresh fish. Now, at 10:30pm, asleep from the long trip, our phone rang and the restaurant informed us that they forgot to charge us for one of the drinks. They insisted on coming to the room in order to obtain my signature. That's ridiculous. As other entries have stated, there was lots of construction going on and this was a problem. When we complained of a nauseating odor in our room, they explained that the rooms nearby that were being renovated were the cause. As they were totally booked, they opened our windows during the day to clear out the smell. I would not return.
