Mystical Hanalei

North-shore Kauai is paradise. Hanalei is a quiet village at the north side of Kauai. In the summer months the rain is gentle and the ocean calm. Kayaking and snorkeling opportunities are abundant.

Best things to do? RELAX. Get into aloha. Watch the sunset. Stand in the rain. Look for a rainbow. Kayak up a river. Hike to a waterfall.${QuickSuggestions} If you wish to do activities on the island, do not hesitate to make the arrangements. The concierge at most resorts can help you with this. However, if you book through the activity itself, it may cost less.${BestWay} You will have to drive to get around most places on Kauai, so plan on driving. Unless your activity is the beach or the pool.

A wonderful activity. Paddle up the Hanalei River about a mile. Turn around and head out onto Hanalei Bay. There you will be visited by green sea turtles and possibly dolphins. Turn towards the east and head over to Hideaway Beach, about another half mile. Land on the beach and snorkel the crystal-clear waters until it is time for lunch. After a brief rest you head home. Makes for a great day. Save yourself some money and visit their booth at the Chin Yong Marketplace. Tell them the "Kai Kane" guy sent you. You will receive information about the island, its mountains and rivers. Overal,l a great bargain for your money. Tell Goldie hello for me.
